How to Use Your Solar Cooker
How to use your solar cooker:
1. First thing in the morning, take out your solar cooker in order to begin heating.
2. Place your cooker so that the sun falls directly onto it for the majority of the day.
3. Make sure that the cooker's shadow is always directly behind it so that the food cooks faster.
4. Put the food in early in the morning, at 9:00 am at the latest so that everything can cook well until lunchtime.
5. We recommend you paint your pots with a dark color, this will help your food cook faster.
6. We suggest you use small or medium-sized pots, so you'll be able to save time.
7. Don't completely fill the pots with food or water, always leave a space so as not to boil over.
8. You don't need to add more than half a cup of water to greens or vegetables, since these foods already have liquid inside.
9. Be careful! You must use gloves or a rag to take out pots or trays. They will be very hot!
10. Clean your cooker with a soft and damp cloth. DO NOT DRY. Don't leave water, because it will ruin the material within.
11. You can use your solar cooker to keep your food hot for up to 5 hours. We recommend you wrap up the pot with a cloth.
12. On a cloudy day, it takes longer to cook.
13. When it rains you can use the solar cooker like a heat retention stove.
The moment you buy your cooker you will have an instructor. Follow his or her suggestions!
